Kawesa is very passionate about Mindset Change, Strategy, Causes, Entrepreneurship and Change Management. Born on 5th May 1977, KAWESA RICHARD started out as a music artiste at the age of 10, traveling through half of the United States and Canada. He then launched out into business consultancy and philanthropy. He is the author of many books, such as; “Critical Thinking Tools” (which the Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom endorsed), “Identity Demons Within”, “male to A MAN”, “Sustainable Change Management”, “12 Lessons of a Fisherman”, “How to Become a Music Star”, “10 Ways of Failing” etc.
Kawesa was the production consultant for the movie “The Last King of Scotland” and has contributed music to global award-winning movies such as the 2012 feature film “The First Grader”. He has also consulted for World Food Program – Uganda on Child Chronic hunger and school feeding programs, for the World Bank on Sanitation, for Conservation Groups as well as for the Chief Technology Officer of Stanford, Dr. Paul Kim.
Kawesa is celebrated for a number of successful socially-impacting initiatives and events such as;
- Operation Stigma and Values-Based HIV/AIDS campaigns to over 120,000 youth across the country in 2002. These sensitization drives were funded by Ministry of Health, UNAIDS and The Germany Embassy.
- Efforts to restore peace in Northern Uganda after the devastating effects of Kony. Kawesa’s efforts under the project name “3 Hours Away” were awarded the Guinness Act of Goodness Award and recognition from UNICEF, Uganda Country Office among others.

- Fundraising Drive for Disabled Children – Conceptualized and implemented a fundraising and visibility campaign for the Uganda Society of Disabled Children that brought on board legendary South African musician Hugh Masekela, MTN, Stanbic Bank among other high-profile brands and expatriate community.
- City Yange Foundation is a lifestyle city initiative that promotes a sense of ownership of the city by the city community. The initiative focuses on mobilizing urban communities to transform their living and working environment as part of their individual social responsibility to society.
- Anti-Counterfeit Network (ACN) – A private-sector led intervention in the fight against counterfeits, illicit trade, parallel importation & copyright infringement.
- Kawesa is a co-founder & Director Projects & Strategy of ACN, currently registered in 3 countries.
- Lead consultant in rebranding Ministry of Finance (Uganda) and in building a Change Management strategy for improved public service delivery across government.
- Kawesa was the lead Communication Strategist and Mindset specialist on the “Here for you” Change Management for Rwanda Revenue Authority.
- Girls Flourish works to transform the girl child into a woman of influence through awareness creation, mindset change, material support and mentorship. The program is a partnership between the Ministry of Gender of Uganda, UN Women and the Association of African First Ladies.
Married since 2003, Kawesa is a father to three girls who co-founded Feastoh Group Limited, a climate responsive organization where he is a Director. Kawesa is a founder of BUNTU Community International Limited, which focuses on Leveraging Efforts to advance Development (LEAD).
